TLDR : Answer Summary
The TM28 reporting requirement for foreigners staying away from their residence for 24 hours has been scrapped, according to a recent update. However, there seems to be confusion among expatriates as some report that the TM30 form, which is mandatory for spouses to report their presence, is still in effect. Comments suggest that not all immigration offices were using the TM28 form, and individuals had differing experiences with the reporting process.

After a weekend at the beach, decided to find out. Wife went to report me back in Korat. Nothing has changed. TM30 still required for spouse.

I think the question is, does my wife have to report my presence, or not?

few if any immigration offices were even using the TM28 form (except those wing-nuts down in Division 6 Phuket) as most went over to the TM30 as soon as they saw how lucrative of a cash cow it was :P

you berated me once for saying a negative thing about them, now you're doing it yourself, not that I disagree with your observation here.
