TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat on a Non-OA visa issued on November 23 inquired about the procedure for their first 90-day report due in April, asking if it could be done online and what documents to bring to the immigration office. Responses indicated that online registration is possible, but some offices may require re-registration within 24 hours of returning from abroad to ensure the TM30 form is accepted. It is advisable to try the online process about a week before the due date and, if it fails, to visit the local immigration office in person.

It is easy to do online, so why not try that about 8 days before the due date. If it is not approved within a week you can then go to the IO in person.

I have had no problems with the online system, but I know others have.

Give it a try, you have nothing to lose.

Many offices now require that you re-register with them within 24 hours of returning from abroad. If you didn't do this online may not work for you as your TM30 might not be accepted.

You have to register online first, then try your first TM47 online, it may work, if not just go to local immigration office.
