VISA Entry - Suvarnabhumi Airport

I entered for the first time on my DTV, walked up to the IO handed my passport and laminated DTV visa, she scanned it and stamped my passport no hassle to questions asked. Was like arriving on VOA.

My question for anyone who has held or holds a DTV in this group is what are my next steps. I entered in Bangkok airport but I am living in Chiang Mai so where do I go for my 90 day check in? I am a little confused as theres no where on my visa nor did the IO say anything to me when I arrived.

If it hadn't been for reading through this group prior to my application I wouldn't even know it was something I had to do. Could someone please advise me haha thank you 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has successfully entered Thailand with a DTV visa at Suvarnabhumi Airport and is now seeking guidance on the next steps, specifically regarding the 90-day reporting process. Commenters clarify that a 90-day report is mandatory, advising the user to do this at the immigration office corresponding to their registered TM30 address. They mention that it can be done easily in Chiang Mai and provide tips on the process.

Where your registered address is. Where your current TM30 covers. That's your first step, filing a TM30

Dont trust your landlord or even your hotel to file a TM30 many hotels arent.

If living in Chiang Mai do 90 day report there. It is one of the easiest. At airport immigration branch it is a drive thru if in car or on bike. On foot it is a walk up window beside the drive thru. Hand over passport and TM30 although they never seem to look at TM30 paper copy. Just scan passport. Takes a couple of minutes.

I have only used the Airport office. Not been to Central Festival. I have found them very helpful. They have volunteer helpers as well as junior staff to ask. Most helpful immigrstion office I have dealt with over the years.

The Tm30 should be done within 24 hours of your arrival by your landlord or hotel or by whoever you are staying then you will have to report every 90 days.

When you leave the country and come back you get stamped back in for a 180 days you don’t need to inform immigration as long as you are staying at the same address then 90 days later you need to a 90 day report Again

Leaving and re-entering does require a new TM30 depending on location. He said he is living Chiang Mai and it is 100% required there if you travel and return. My agent does it for me but had to do it twice in May this year.

@Greg *******
We called Sisaket immigration yesterday they said not required

Maybe depends on location like you say

@Jim ******
Yeah, 100% depends on location. They can even change their minds about it overnight lol. Jomtien has been backwards and forwards about this a few times. I never had an issue not doing it after travel there though but I know CM are sticklers for it.

Jomtien is my local office, they only care if you move address not if returning to same address even if returning from abroad. It’s such a busy office they don’t want people doing pointless reporting. It’s about the only good thing about the office.

Exactly - they implemented it again in 2023 when I arrived back from UK. I went again after a Vietnam trip and they chased me. My pal went to Vietnam earlier this year and redid the TM30 while his pal did not. No difference either way for 90 day report.

90 day report is something you have to do. I didn't know about it either and I'm not even sure how I found out honestly. Probably just reading through these Facebook posts. No one tells you and it's not very clear. I also hear that some people don't do it and it's rarely an issue but why even risk it. I went to the immigration office in Bangkok and was done in 2 hours. After the first one I hear you can do it online.

Yeah it's literally not mentioned anywhere in the visa application process nor is it mentioned on the email you get when you are approved. Thank god for these groups so I know i now need to do it... yeah I don't want to risk it, I was super excited to get my DTV approved, seems silly to risk anything for the sake of going to an office for a couple of hours

But this is not something for only DTV holders. Its for anyone staying in Thailand for 90 consecutive days. They really should make it more clear. Alot of people didn't know. I think the only penalty is a fine if they find out you didn't do it and I think in most cases they don't find out. But even then, I still did it.

I agree it would be nice to have more information, but I also think that someone who wants to visit a country for over 90 days, might do some investigations about immigration procedures.
Pete *******
You do your 90 day report in which ever Immigration Office you have registered your TM30.

How do I get a TM30, is that what I get once I have signed a lease?

the owner of the property you are staying in must file a TM30 within 24hrs of your arrival.
