Do I need to report in person for my first 90-day report on an O-A visa in Thailand?

Hi, we are here on our first O-A visa, have been looking at the 90day reporting, which looks fairly straight forward to do online, is it right that our first report has to be in person?

Does anyone know if there is a local bus service between Khao Lak and Takua Pa?

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The first 90-day reporting for an O-A visa can usually be done online, provided a TM30 form has been submitted by your landlord or hotel. If the online option is unavailable or gets rejected, you must report in person. You can file online 14 days before the due date and up to 7 days late in person. Additionally, there is a user inquiry about local bus services between Khao Lak and Takua Pa, which remains unanswered.

With the new online reporting system your first report can indeed be done online - but only if a TM30 has been filed for you (your landlord or hotel should have done it - but some don’t). You won’t lose anything by trying online. If they reject just go in to your local office to file. You can file online 14 days prior. In person 14 days prior up to 7 days late.

Can’t help with the bus question.

thank you Stuart that’ll save one trip to immigration, need to go for residency certificate soon so we can get Thai driving license.

That too will need a TM30 filed. If you have a print out of that then all you need is copies of your passport data page, current entry stamp, TM30 and a photo.

If you don’t have the TM30 filed it’s a whole different ball game, where you’ll need copies of your landlords ID, house registration, rental contract, power of attorney (with tax stamps) and potentially more.

Get your house owner to do it online. Way easier.

shouldn’t be a problem, our landlady has filed TM30 online and we have O-A visa. Thank you for your response.

ok I have no direct experience of that office but I’m pretty certain it’ll be the same as Phuket.

should be fine, we’ve got all the necessary paperwork. We’ve only been to Krabi immigration and that was a very efficient and pleasant experience.

I’m only referring to what is needed in Phuket. Other offices may need the same. Bangkok won’t let you have one unless you’re on a long term visa.
