Anyone else come across the issue of having to report into the Immigration dept every 90 days still? I'd had assumed that this requirement wasn't needed as we have a visa for 180 days and if we need to extend to 360 max, we have to see the immigration to renew anyhow. And if youre renting a condo, TM30 form is needed.
Anyone else found the same?
Thanks - Tony

TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement to report to the Immigration Department every 90 days applies to nearly all visa holders in Thailand, except for those on Long-Term Resident (LTR) visas. Even if you have a 180-day visa, you still need to comply with this reporting duty, which is a standard condition of most visas. When renting a condo, the TM30 form must also be filed alongside the 90-day report. Many users emphasized the necessity of understanding and adhering to these regulations to avoid any issues.
LONG TERM RESIDENT (LTR) VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
You have the obligation to familiarize you with the laws and rules of the country you are staying at, also in Thailand.

You made a mistake and must take the consequences.

All that is in Thailand for more than 90 days need to do 90 days rapport, and for most dtv visa easier to do a border run/fly out and back , a good idea stay out atleast 1 day,to get new 180 days, special if have dtv with cooking school or thaiboxing, they can demand you to take new courses if extend on immigration office, not needed if leaving Thailand and come back according to my information right now
"Not needed if leaving Thailand" is simply wrong information, you mean "not checked normally when leaving Thailand" I assume.
Breaking rules is never a good advice, but everybody has to decide for themselves if they want to take that risk.

You signed a form accepting this when you applied for the visa. TM47, TM30 etc are part of your visa conditions.๐

"issue of having to report"... That's not an issue. That's one of the duties you accept to have when enjoying your life in Thailand. Everyone is subject to it but LTR visas.
