Second 90 day visa? At the end of our visa we plan to go back to Thailand and reapply for a second 30 or 90 day visa. Is this permitted?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation addresses the possibility of reapplying for a second 30 or 90-day visa after the current visa expiration. It emphasizes that there is technically no 90-day tourist visa, and that a 60-day tourist visa can be obtained from the US, followed by a possible 30-day extension in Thailand. It further clarifies that applying for a tourist visa while inside Thailand is not allowed, necessitating an E-Visa or application at a consulate outside Thailand. However, it’s noted that some consulates may deny back-to-back tourist visa requests if a recent visa has been issued.

90 day Visa based on what, retirement, marriage? If so yes, you can apply inside Thailand if you meet the financial requirements or you can get it before travelling.

You also cannot apply for a tourist visa in Thailand.

You'd have to either get an E-Visa before coming, or go to a consulate outside Thailand.

With the latter, bear in mind increasing numbers of consulates will no longer issue back-to-back tourist visas (if you've just had one, they won't give you a second one on top of it).

There is no 90 day Tourist Visa. You can apply for a 60 day tourist Visa in the US and then apply for a 30 day extension when you arrive in Thailand.
