Planning my return to BKK this winter and would like to stay for 90 days. Does anyone know whether or not I can take two trips (Singapore, KL) to start the 30 day clock over again, or do I need to get a tourist visa? Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The question revolves around whether a traveler can take two short trips to neighboring countries to reset their entry limit in Thailand or if they should obtain a tourist visa for a longer stay. Responses highlight the importance of understanding visa rules and suggest options like the Multiple Entry Tourist Visa for flexibility in travel.
And before it all goes out of order, I close it down.
The question is about 90 days, if you like to stay 1 year living, working, relaxing or doing something else, apply for the visa that fits that purpose.
Going in and out on regular basis using the Visa Exempt Entry could end up in a questionnaire of the Immigration Officer just doing his job.
if you're in your home country, consider getting the multiple Entry Tourist Visa. You can exit and enter all you want. Stamped in for 60 days (extendable) each entry.

Thanks for that, but is travel possible at this point? I just want to understand all of my options. If travel is possible, I would prolly do it any way, so why bother with the TV?
while there are no restrictions on number of 30-day visa exemption entries by air, you run the risk of being stopped at IC if they see back to back to back use of this.
I didnt once mention anything about land entries.....as for air entries can you please direct me to the reference for 4 allowed entries before being questioned? Cheers.
not touchy....just wondering why you mention land entries in first place. OP is talking about doing runs to KL and Singapore; much easier done by air than land.
I may just get the TV. I do want to travel, but even with requirements dropped you have to fill out stuff on line (at least for Singapore and Malaysia). I'll firm up everything in the fall. Thank you for the responses.
nothing has changed about visa exempt. It's the same as always 30 days on arrival.

Getting a tourist visa first would be the ideal situation. Enter stamped in for 60 days, and then a 30 extension in country. Saves all the faffing about leaving the country, (and cost).
