So the 60 day tourist e-visa requires you to buy a plane ticket first. If we'll undecided on our departure date, can we buy a refundable plane ticket, refund it and buy our ticket when we'll ready?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The 60-day tourist e-visa for Thailand typically requires proof of travel, but you can submit expected travel plans instead of a confirmed flight ticket. It's acceptable to buy a refundable plane ticket if you're undecided on your departure date and refund it later. Keep in mind the visa is valid for use within 90 days once issued.

No it doesnt. Just put in the date you expect to travel.

Once you get the visa you can go anytime you want within 90 days.

thanks!

Why apply for the Visa before you've even settled on your plans? The new evisas only take a few days to issue (if you're in one of the countries using the system)

not really depends to consulate my husband applied for visa a week already still on processing

Of course you can buy a refundable ticket. You also shouldn't need a plane ticket, just upload your expected travel plans, the US embassies accept a screenshot of the flight you want to take.

I'm on the E-visa site and it asks for a travel booking confirmation. I'm assuming that means it needs to be paid for

So they don't actually require it?

Not for a tourist visa from a Thai embassy in the US. Put a booking page of a flight you think you'll take, that's enough.

@Ga***
They've always asked for it.
