TLDR : Answer Summary
The TM30 form is required for processes such as obtaining an in-country visa, extending a stay, or getting a residency certificate. However, it is not needed for applying for a work permit, submitting a 90-day report, or for a re-entry permit. It is advisable to check with the local immigration office for specific requirements.

TM30 or Tor Mor 30 translated, Immigration form number 30, used for the purpose to register a foreigner residing at a Thai address within 24 hours of arrival.

You might need proof of registration of the address to apply for an Visa, Extension of Stay, reports that foreigner is 90 days inside Thailand or a re-entry permit.

You do not need a Thai address to apply for a Work Permit at the Ministry of Labor, you may use the application method 3 and get the WP3 form to send to the foreigner so he/she can apply for the Non Immigrant B visa.

When is a TM30 required?

It may be required for:

- Getting an in-country visa

- Getting an extension of stay

- Getting a residency certificate.

ASK your local immigration office.

It may not be required for:

- Work permit. This is done at the labor office.

- 90 day report. A 90 day report does NOT require a TM30

- Re-entry permit. A TM30 is NOT required for a re-entry permit.
