Thanks adding me!

Quick question on stays longer than 30 days as I'll be travelling to Koh Samui in July.

I have a Belgian passport so no need for a visa for a short stay.

But what if I want to stay longer than 30 days (max 60 days)? Can I get a visa through an agency on Samui or is it better to get the visa prior to arriving?

Any reco on an agency on Samui who could help?

Thanks for your help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you're a Belgian passport holder planning to stay in Thailand for more than 30 days, you have some options. You cannot obtain a tourist visa within Thailand; instead, you should acquire your visa before traveling. You can apply for a single-entry tourist visa at a Thai consulate, which allows a stay of 60 days. Alternatively, upon arrival, you can get a 30-day visa-exempt entry, which is extendable by 30 days at an Immigration Office in Koh Samui. Note that while you can extend your visa locally, you’ll need to show proof of onward travel if your stay exceeds 30 days.

You will arrive to Thailand with a 30 day visa exempt stamp. Once in Koh Samui you can extend it by 30 more days just going to Immigration Office.

Till 60 days you don't need any border run nor visarun, so no need to pay any agency service. I attach a photo with what you need to buy an extension at Samui Immigration (open Monday-Friday 8.30-12.00 / 13.00-16.30).

Go to the thai consulate in antwerp and apply for a tourist visa.

Definitely the most easy way

But, you will need to be able to get on the plane in the first place, which, if your return flight is more than 30 days after your departure, will mean the check-in staff making sure you have a visa before they let you board, or a ticket (with another airline) flying out of Thailand before those 30 days are up. I recommend what

Just so you know, you can ask about visa run companies (that lug you to a thai consulate in another country) and agents in other countries that help people get thai visas from consulates BUT we have a no in-country agency or agent recommendation policy on the group that helps get visas or extensions at the immigration offices.

With a Belgium passport you will get 30 days Visa Exempt Entry, which can be Extended once at Immigration Office with another 30 days and cost 1.900 Thb. Other option and a little bit cheaper is to apply before departure for the Single Entry Tourist Visa at Thai consulate/Embassy and you get 60 days on arrival. Visa cost 1.000 Thb.

You can't get a visa inside of thailand for tourism purposes.

You should get either a single entry tourist visa or a 6 month METV <- multi-entry tourist visa from a thai consulate in your country before you wing your way here.

Other than doing that, once you have extended your 30 day visa exempt entry once by 30 days you would need to leave the country and either come back in on a 30 day visa exempt entry again OR get a tourist visa from a thai consulate in a neighboring country
