If I hoped on a plane now from Canada and flew to Koh Samui, how long can I stay?
Can I get a visa on arrival in the airport or at an immigration office? What are the options for an education visa in samui?
I see so much conflicting and old information online regarding visas and I have no idea what is right.
TIA!!!

TLDR : Answer Summary
As a Canadian citizen, you will receive a visa-exempt entry for 30 days upon arrival in Thailand, which can be extended once for an additional 30 days. Note that Canadians are not eligible for a visa on arrival. For education visas, it is recommended to contact schools directly in Koh Samui, as they usually charge high fees for visa assistance.
If you have a Canadian passport then you cannot get Visa on arrival as that's only for a few countries.
As a Canadian you would qualify for visa exempt, which is not a visa. It is a 30 day entry stamp into Thailand. You can also apply one time for a 30 day extension, giving you 60 days in total.
If you want to find out about education visas then find a school you are interested in and ask them. Most of the schools on the islands charge very high fees for visas (10,000+) on top of the class fees.
