Hey probably been asked a million times but I am UK passport holder , came here with 30 day exempt visa at airport, I need another 30 days whilst I wait for my business visa - can I just go to Samui immigration and extend? If so are there any timings I need to know or perhaps documents I need to show? Thanks for any help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK passport holder with a 30-day exempt visa can extend their stay for another 30 days at the Samui immigration office. To do this, you will need to provide your passport, copies of your passport's data page and entry stamp, your TM.6 departure card, a passport-sized photo, and a filled-out TM.7 application form. The extension costs 1900 baht. You should bring a receipt from your accommodation or a business card with the full address. Make sure the TM.30 form was filed within 24 hours of arrival to avoid fines.

In that case take a lease agreement or a receipt from the place you're staying.

Unless I'm wrong the Samui Immigration office is hard core that people have filed a TM.30 form within 24 hours of arriving there. If they are and you or your land lord didn't file it you could be facing a 1600baht fine.

You can get the TM.7 form (and the TM.30 one too) at the immigration office OR from this group's File section in the tabs on the left.

As i am staying on the mainland i can't do the tm30 within 24hrs at Koh Samui. Before i just went to the local policestation in Khiri Rat and it was ok but now as i'm looking for Retirem.Visa later i will do everything properly.....

Samui immigration is a Visa Extension factory, they don't have time for this extra detail ๐Ÿ˜„

, are you saying that the immigration office on Samui doesn't care whether people have filed a TM.30 form or not and a receipt of having done one is not required when you get an extension?

Tod thanks for the very fast reply. The TM.7 I can get in Samui? And by "receipt" I take it you mean accommodation receipt? Bit of an issue as I rent a shop here. Will a bill in my name be ok , say for 3BB internet? Thanks again man

When you go to immigration, there is a small separate office to the right in front of the big Immigration building. In there they have all the forms, will make copies of your passport pages, take picture, help you fill out form if needed, supply glue to paste picture on form. They're awesome in there. 20 baht for copies, 80 for picture (i think).

Then you just go into Immigration building and get in line. Have your form, passport, and 1900 ready to hand to the officer.

Hey, Sam. At Samui immigration you just need your address and landlord phone number. They don't require any documentation.

You need your passport, copies of the data page of your passport, the entry stamp and your TM.6 departure card, a passport sized photo and a filled out TM.7 application for extension. It costs 1900baht.

Take the receipt from where you're staying AND a business card that has the entire address on it.

There is no need to wait until your current stamp expires because they ADD the 30 days to your expiration date.
