TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry seeks clarification on whether it is possible to obtain a multiple re-entry permit on a Thai tourist visa, specifically one that has already been extended. Responses indicate that it is possible to get a multiple re-entry permit, and it will keep the current visa status valid during exits and re-entries. However, the permit only covers the specific visa stamp currently in use.

Hello Eduardo Bashayed. I also want to buy a multiple re entry permit for my tourist visa. Do you know if the permit is only valid for the first 60 days or is it valid even for the extra 30 day extension? Thanks a lot. Or do you need two re entry permits? (One for the first 60 and one for the extra 30).

Just wanted to post for future references.

, this worked like a charm. The only problem was that the agent at Chanwatana didn't want to extend my visa (after being "only" 20 days in Thailand, because she said I had just entered the country), so I had to convince her that I was leaving Thailand to travel around Asia and would come back after expiration so I needed to buy a re-entry permit. So she gave me the extension, then I bought the multiple re-entry permit in Dom Mueang and had multiple entries until the 90 day limit. Thanks. :)

@Rob***
, that completely solves my problem, perfect. Thank you again and again 🙂

If you first apply for the 30 day Extension of Stay and than for a re-entry permit, this re-entry permit is valid till the last day of your new Admitted to Stay date.

Hi
@Rob***
, what do you think about this? What would happen if I’m at day 57 of my single entry tourist visa and I already went for my extra 30 day extension (so I can stay until day 90). What happens if I go out at day 57 with a multi re entry permit and I come back on day 62? I ask this because I’m planning a trip for New Year’s Eve and that is my case. I cannot wait to buy the re entry permit during my extension period because that woul already be after New Yesr’s Eve. 😒 Let me know what you think. Thanks.

@Robert ******
thank you again.
Robert *******
NO, because a 30 day Extension is added to your current Stay and the re-entry permit is only valid during your current stay.

@Robert ******
thank you for answering and sorry for asking again: if I have a 60 day tourist visa and I buy a multiple re entry permit today what happens when I get my 30 day extension? Does it still work?
Robert *******
a Re-entry permit is only valid during your current stay stamped in your passport.

You won't have a problem getting a multiple re-entry permit which will keep your current extension stamp 'alive' (valid) while you exit and re-enter the country.

Each time you come back you'll be stamped in for the expiration date you have now.

You can buy a multiple re-entry permit but it will only be good for your current admitted to stay stamp. Cost is 3800bt

You can apply for the Multiple Entry Tourist Visa, valid for 6 months but only at your country of residence or as exception Perth Auststralia. What is you Nationality and how do you plan to travel in the next 3 months?
