Hiii! Hoping for some insights quickly:
I’m spontaneously flying out with a direct flight to Singapore in the next 12 hours from Samui airport but I’ll need a re-entry permit for my visa (issued in Chiang Mai). Is it possible to get a re-entry stamp at the airport? I know in Chiang Mai and Bangkok it is but I can’t find a clear answer for Samui.
Or can it be done quickly at Samui immigration office in the morning? 🙏🏼
Grateful for any experiences shared!
[update]: for anyone with the same question in the future:
Multiple resources said no re-entry permit possible at Samui airport. Went to immigration first thing in the morning. Needed to fill in form, copy of passport, photo, a letter from university that I’m allowed to travel, TM30 and flight invoice. (The latter three only if your visa is issued elsewhere from Samui and if you want the re-entry permit the same day). Needed to push them a bit to get it done in time but worked out in the end. Took about 3 hours total, paid 1000 baht.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster inquired about obtaining a re-entry permit at Samui airport for a visa issued in Chiang Mai, as they had a flight to Singapore in the next 12 hours. They discovered that re-entry permits are not available at Samui airport and opted to visit the Samui immigration office early in the morning. They successfully obtained the re-entry permit after filling out necessary forms and providing required documents, and it took about 3 hours to process.
