Hello,
I will soon receive a new passport, as I have changed my last name due to marriage. Based on previous posts, I understand that I can have my extension stamp (for a non-O visa) transferred to the new passport at CW and that the embassy letter won't be required anymore as my embassy is not handing it out.
However, I am unsure about transferring my re-entry permit, which I obtained at Suvarnabhumi Airport, to the new passport. Can this also be done at CW? Also, I am unable to find an option to book an appointment online. Could you inform me about how long the entire process typically takes?
I look forward to your advice.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the process of transferring their extension stamp for a non-O visa and re-entry permit to a new passport after a name change due to marriage. They have received confirmation that the extension stamp transfer can be done at the Chaengwattana immigration office (CW), but are uncertain about the re-entry permit obtained at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Community members advise checking with Section C-2 at CW for the re-entry permit and mention there is no online appointment system for these transfers, with processing times varying based on current queues.
