How can I transfer my re-entry permit along with my extension stamp to my new passport in Thailand?

Hello,

I will soon receive a new passport, as I have changed my last name due to marriage. Based on previous posts, I understand that I can have my extension stamp (for a non-O visa) transferred to the new passport at CW and that the embassy letter won't be required anymore as my embassy is not handing it out.

However, I am unsure about transferring my re-entry permit, which I obtained at Suvarnabhumi Airport, to the new passport. Can this also be done at CW? Also, I am unable to find an option to book an appointment online. Could you inform me about how long the entire process typically takes?

I look forward to your advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the process of transferring their extension stamp for a non-O visa and re-entry permit to a new passport after a name change due to marriage. They have received confirmation that the extension stamp transfer can be done at the Chaengwattana immigration office (CW), but are uncertain about the re-entry permit obtained at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Community members advise checking with Section C-2 at CW for the re-entry permit and mention there is no online appointment system for these transfers, with processing times varying based on current queues.

You can indeed have your extension stamps and relevant info moved to the new passport at Chaengwattana IF that's where you got your extension issued ๐Ÿ™‚

You can CHECK with the people at Section C-2 <- where re-entry permits are sold at Chaengwattana (sorry edited, re-entry permits are sold at C-2)

BUT

If I was a betting man I'd bet dollars to durian that you can only get that Suvarnabhumi re-entry permit stamp moved to the new passport out at the airport where you got the stamp issued. ๐Ÿ˜•

Correct there is no online appt booking choice to move extension stamps to a new passport ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I know this is gonna sound like a snarky answer,

BUT

it takes as long as it takes.

You get a queue number at the counter to the same section that issued your year extension and it depends on how many people are in that section as far as how fast it will go.

You will need this form filled out and all the requested copies on the back side as well
