[Visa for internship in Thailand] Has anyone succeeded to get a Non-Immigrant ED Visa while being already in Thailand ? I am enrolled in an online program with a French University and I am planning to do an internship in Thailand since I live in Bangkok (on a non-immigrant O visa). I read that the application process for ED visa should be done from outside of Thailand but given the circumstances, that will not be possible. Is there a way to do this process from inside Thailand? Where can I find info about it? Thanks !

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry focuses on the possibility of obtaining a Non-Immigrant ED Visa from within Thailand after being enrolled in an online program while on a Non-O visa. Responses indicate that it is possible to apply for the ED visa from inside Thailand, particularly if the applicant is associated with a local university. However, the success of the application is contingent upon the cooperation of the educational institution and local immigration authorities. Detailed steps include possibly changing visa types and meeting specific documentation requirements.

ahhh, you are on a "trailing spouse" extension (married to another foreigner who legally works here) AND you are correct you can't 'work' on that extension type.
The ONLY way you'd be able to change it in country would be to go in to your immigration office, cancel your current extension of stay (the one piggybacked to your spouse's employment extension), then immediately apply for a 60 day covid extension, and once you get that get documentation from the university/foundation/company that you're going to intern for and go apply for the in country 90 day ED visa at your immigration office.
You need to take a representative from your employer to make SURE this can be done before you cancel the extension you're on.
I am on a spouse visa, married to a work permit holder. The visa runs until end of June 2021 and will be renewed/ extended at that time. However I understand this visa does not allow me to work/ complete an internship. Hence I am thinking of getting an Ed visa here in Bangkok. My school can issue a document to certify I am a student and the company where I will do the internship can issue a letter as well.
