For the purpose of establishing a ‘RESIDENCY’ change to Thailand in conjunction with a Non Immigrant O-A VISA, I have not been able to find instructions on how to do this. It is not a requirement but according to what I am reading on one of the Thai sites, it might be advantageous to establish.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking information on how to establish residency in Thailand with a Non Immigrant O-A Visa. Several comments suggest that establishing residency may not be necessary, and they recommend obtaining the O-A visa from a Thai consulate in advance, preferably before traveling to Thailand. It is mentioned that having this visa can grant a longer stay in Thailand, particularly if one exits and re-enters before the visa expires. The conversation highlights the importance of clarity in the inquiry about residency.

And no need to establish a RESIDENCY whatever in your application ...my Thai friends often say to me..."You think too much". I got my O-A last November from the Los Angeles Thai Consulate by mail. Turnaround time est 10 business days. Easy to do... if I could do it. Feel free to ask questions and/or use SEARCH on top of this forum ... O-A Visa ...will get you many helpful posts from others experienced in getting the O-A. Good luck.
Get the year-long, multi-entry Non-Immigrant Type O-A visa from the thai consulate in your country BEFORE you wing your way here. When you arrive you'll be stamped in for a full year, and IF you were to exit/re-enter the country just before the VISA itself expired you'd get another full year's stamp into thailand <- meaning you got two years of stay out of a visa that has a validity of a single year.
