TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion emphasizes that an expired re-entry permit is considered null and void. To enter Thailand again after the permit has expired, individuals would need to apply for a new visa or, if eligible, enter Thailand under visa exemption regulations. It is also pointed out that a re-entry permit is linked to the validity of the visa extension, which is only valid for one year, thereby indicating that if the re-entry permit has expired, so has the associated visa extension.

A re-entry permit is tied to your visa extension. Extensions are only valid for one year, so if your re-entry permit expired so did your one year visa extension.

That was In a normal scenario, I heard about honoring expired reentry permits as an exception, but now It's clear that It was a confusing update. Conclusion Is one needs to pay and provide stack of documents all again, no relaxation for expats working for the country though!

An expired reentry permit is null and void. You’d need to either buy a new visa or if you are from a country that is allowed visa exemption you can enter that way, with the CoE, insurance, quarantine etc, etc.

That's a communication gap at their end "asusual" so basically you mean that any long stay visa holder for eg. NON-B who takes a reentry permit to return back to Thailand within a stipulated time will not be honored?
I knew that but the above said Information made me think that they might be good enough to honor the expired reentry permits as an exception, but I forgot I had to pump money as It's Thailand!
that’s for the very very few people that have permanent residency here. Usually you’re not permitted to be out of Thailand over a year. But because of Covid and travel restrictions they’re extending that condition.
