Hi

It's a general question and my apologies if it's been asked before

If people are staying in Thailand on yearly extention either retirement or married to a Thai

If they leave the country but obtain a re-entry permit . What else would they need when they return to Thailand. If the yearly extention is not out of date

TLDR : Answer Summary
When returning to Thailand on a yearly extension (such as a retirement or marriage extension) with a re-entry permit, travelers did not need additional documents before COVID-19. However, during the pandemic, you will need a Certificate of Entry to comply with travel regulations, meet criteria for the sandboxes, and possibly present documentation for medical insurance if required by your visa type.

In pre-COVID-19 days, you would not need any documents. In COVID-19, you will need a Certificate of Entry, to either meet the criteria for the sandboxes or to get an Alternative State Quarantine hotel, and if your extension of stay require medical insurance (One Year Extension of Stay based on Retirement from a Non-OA visa) to show the insurance.

Thank you so even if you have a house you still need to book an ASQ for the duration they say

For the ASQ, you must stay at the ASQ for 14 days. Sadly, this is not a "how do I enter Thailand" group. Please ask your questions at

They would know. PLUS, we don't even know when you'll return, or what the requirements will be when you return.

I'm closing comments to prevent confusion. Thank you.
