TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring if their wife can enter Thailand with a new passport while holding a re-entry permit in her old passport, which is still valid but will expire soon. A commenter suggests that she should present both passports upon arrival, and she will likely be allowed entry with the new passport.

IF she gets a new passport outside the country when she comes back she shows BOTH passports when she stamps in and they will stamp her in on the new passport until the entry stamp in the old passport expires
