TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring whether they can reuse a re-entry stamp and renew their expired retirement visa in Thailand, as their retirement visa expired in December and they plan to return in September. Comments indicate that both the visa and re-entry stamp expire together, and if the visa has expired, a new Non-O visa must be applied for. It is also noted that if any permitted stay dates are still valid, then re-entry is possible until that date, but a certificate of entry from a Thai embassy or consulate is required for re-entry.

If a visa has expired then it’s useless and you’d need to apply for a new one. If you had an existing “permitted to stay until” xyz date that is still valid along with a re-entry permit then you’re good to re enter the country until that date. However you would still need to apply for a certificate of entry from your local Thai embassy/consulate and jump through all the hoops that entails to get back in.

If your visa or extention of stay has expired then so has the re-entry permit. You'll need another Non Imm O visa.

Steve Greir. The re-entry permit is normally stamped up to the date of expiry of the last entry stamp or extension. It may be that OP's visa has expired and he's now on an extension of stay

Maybe, but exactly as I said, whatever he's on, visa or extention has expired then so has the re-entry permit. He cant be on both!

Pretty sure the re-entry stamp runs alongside your visa. They both expire together. Just checked mine and both my visa and re-entry have the same expiry date
