TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the potential for obtaining a 5-year soft visa (DTV) in Thailand for dental implants. Many commenters express skepticism about this possibility, highlighting that dental treatments, particularly procedures like implants, are typically completed within a short timeframe (often within a month). Some individuals mention successfully obtaining medical DTVs for other treatments but note that approvals may vary significantly based on the consular office and supporting documentation provided. Several participants share their experiences with dental treatments in Thailand and emphasize the importance of having a comprehensive treatment plan from a dentist. Ultimately, the consensus leans towards the idea that while obtaining a DTV for dental implants is not impossible, it may be improbable given the current strict regulations.

A = 1 and that will take a week, even if you did all top and all bottom maximum would be 2 months at the dentist.

Why would you think you would get a 5 year visa?

They are so strict now you will 99% get declined

An implant plan doesn't take several months. You can do it in every dental clinic in Thailand within 1 Month. I don't think you will get a DTV for this reason.

Best bet is to go bangkok hospital for a check up, they will tell you you need crazy amounts of work doing (money grab) then book the work in and tell them you need paperwork for visa, and they will understand and sort the rest!

It’ll entirely depend on how lax the consular office processing your application is and the quality of your supporting documents. If you simply have a 1 day appointment for an implant then nothing else the chances would be pretty slim.

there is no stipulation in soft power. if you need to go 6 times over 5 years so be it. dont shoot the messenger. or you can pay 20k baht to set up a retirement visa then renew and pay each year and everytime you leave. For me DTV seemed fine.

A six month dental treatment plan is just as valid as any other soft power option for obtaining a DTV.

Why are people laughing about this. Since the start of DTV , You could always get a medical DTV for any major or also minor treatment. Some people mentioned they planned to go to the doctor once and got the Medical DTV approved for it. Haven’t heard from medical DTV in a long time but from heresay even one time visit to hospital might be enough.

Anonymous participant 516 myself and a number of other people I know have got the DTV for 5 years for dental treatment with no issues.

I am not sure either why people are laughing.

Clear but why do you think you ll be granted a 5 year visa for a 30 days hospitalization? Let s be serious, why not visa for life ?

I do have but always worried about thinning. I do notice much less hair fall. Can’t go wrong with just feeding your hair your own growth factors. It’s cheap too, like 1000thb session, so why not. But - it’s not for everyone, it can be painful 10-15 needle stabs on your scalp each session.

it has been approved before. Don’t argue with logic. I could tell you story’s about missing logic in Thailand all day long. The only question is how likely is it to be approved and would it make timely and financial sense compared to softpower DTV. I have just read in late 2025 you can get hair loss treatment or teeth whitening approved

FIY when DTV came out in 2024(?) I did apply for softpower for hair loss treatment (PRP injections). It was 6 treatments every 2 weeks.

But yes I've done it on the regular every 2-3 weeks since then, although of course they wouldn't have known (or cared about that).

Things were a lot more lax back then, from hearing the most recent stories though.

There was no DTV 5 years ago. It came about in June 2024 and I got mine in September 2024 and arrived in TLand in April 2025 and left in August 2025 and may come back at another time.

Ask your dentist for a treatment plan - at least 6 months but 18 months to 2 years it better. Plus they need to provide Company registration and medical licence numbers etc

I got one but you need to email Nana dental or some other one and give them a treatment plan for several months for implant and when you arrive you can change your appointment dates because they may not be able to give you the same dates as on the letter.
