Hello everyone. My extension of stay for my marriage visa ends on the 2nd of July. Is there a way to get another 30 days extension? The reason why I am asking this is that I messed and waited to long to transfer funds to my Thai bank account which should be in my Thai bank account next week to meet the financial requirements. So if it goes in my account let's say by the 10th of May the two months required that the funds need to be in my account I will meet that requirement on the 10th of July which will be 8 days after my current extension expires.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquires about obtaining a 30-day extension for their marriage visa, which expires on July 2nd, due to delays in transferring funds to meet financial requirements. Responses suggest that a direct 30-day extension is not possible for marriage visas, but a 60-day extension based on visiting a Thai spouse can be applied for instead. It was noted that it is important to consider previous extensions and the seasoning of funds in the bank account.

you have the correct advice from the first response. You're not the first foreigner here who made a mistake about the seasoning of funds.

You can get the 60 day visit family extension and that will let the funds "season" in your bank account long enough to apply for the yearly extension after that..

This first year u can be an exception.. just request the immigration officer that u were unaware and the money has come now. According to the rules 1st year will be an exception... all the best mate

, he is not talking about a visa at all :O he's talking about getting a new yearly extension based on marriage and he is using BANKED MONEY <- meaning he is banking 400K baht in a thai bank. It has nothing to do with that first year exception you are talking about

he is not talking about retirement visa.. he is on a marriage based visa

You are confusing people whose consulates stopped issuing the affidavit of income notary letters and who use monthly income method for the proof of funds AND the leniency that the former immigration head asked offices/officers to allow this year while people transition to international transfers.

It has NOTHING to do with people using banked money as the method for proof of funds.

But if this is your second extension, the seasoning of funds is 3 months, so for 2nd July, funds should already have been in the account on 2nd April if you apply on the last day.

@Dominic ****
you may have been told that BUT those are not the real rules

Alan Charles Crisp When I did my first extension, I was told subsequent years required 3 months. This is for CNX, so Chiang Rai might be different.

Not on a marriage extension Dominic , always 2 months

No, there is no 30 day Extension of Stay on an Extension of Stay based on being married to a Thai National. BUT the good news is you can apply for a 60 day Extension of Stay based on visiting your Thai wife, same documents but without the financial part and before this 60 days ends you can apply again for the 1 year Extension of Stay. Only side part is if you already applied once for a 60 days Extension of Stay since you entered Thailand with this visa you could face a denial and have to start from scratch.

I never applied for a 60 day extension. Thank you very much Robert.
