Hi guys,

Visa based on married to Thai expires April 2nd. Planned to use 400k banked for 2 months but it didn't get here until 27th January (couple of days ago). Can I apply on 27th of March or would that be too late? (Chaeng Watthana). No probs with other docs or requirements, also have a baby together for the record... Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the timing for applying for a visa extension based on their marriage to a Thai citizen, noting their current visa expires on April 2 and they just met the bank deposit requirement. A comment confirms that they can apply for the extension up to the expiration date as long as the two-month seasoning requirement is met.

You can apply for a yearly extension when you have 45 days or LESS left on your current stamp. (So if your stamp expires on April 2 you could apply right up to that day). As long as you meet the 2 month seasoning requirement.

Sounds good, so no minimum 20, or 14 or 7 days left needed to apply like with some visas,

I did check through using search function, saw the 45 days or less, but also thought there might be a minimum number of days needed left on visa.

Thanks :)

nope, no minimum, BUT I sure would do it the soonest you can rather than wait until the last day just in case your documents aren't right and you need to go get something else.

for sure. Better still, go a couple of weeks before I apply with wifey and check exactly what we need. (As you advise).

Earliest I can do it is the 28th so I don't have much leeway.

What is the bank letter I see mentioned on other threads? I didn't need that last time...
