When should I apply for my son's visa extension to match mine in Thailand?

Hi,(again), your help has been invaluable so far in getting my Son’s visa (dependent), one last question.

I am a Teacher in Thailand, and my son is studying (A levels) in Thailand, online. We provided all the relevant documents initially and received a 90 day extension. We were told to return after the 90 days to re-submit all the documents again so that his visa end point is then the same as mine. His visa runs out on Jan 5 2023. Do I need to wait until we are close to Jan 5 or can I go, next week for example, to get the extension to match my visa.

Thanks for your help

One other bit of info. When we went for his first 90 day extension he was on a tourist visa extension and we had to submit the documents 15 days before tourist visa expired, then return to get the new Non O? (dependent) visa. Do we need to re-submit the documents with 15 days left on his current extension.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the timing for applying for their son's visa extension to align with their own. They are currently on a dependent visa for their son, who is studying online in Thailand. After receiving a 90-day extension, they need to know if they can apply for the extension early, since their son's visa expires on January 5, 2023. The response confirms they can apply for the extension as early as next week, as long as they submit the application with at least 30 days remaining on the visa, and clarifies that the 15-day rule applies to in-country visa applications, not extensions.

Ok thats great, I have all the documents ready from my school (they have been great), I just needed to clarify if I needed to go with the 15 days left. Great to know I don't, so now I can now schedule an appointment in the next week of so and all should be good. One final question which service do I schedule an appointment with (see image), or this is the link I am looking to book my appointment on https://outlook.office365.com/owa/calendar/

it is not obvious which one I use for this sort of extension. Again thanks for your help on this matter.

Your son is now on an initial visa for 90 days. He needs to apply for an extension this time before his stamp runs out. Most immigration offices accept extension applications when the stamp remains 30 days or less, no need to wait until the last minute.

You need to get almost the same documents from your employer for him. Talk with your school ASAP since some documents might take time to complete.

15 days minimum remaining is the requirement for an in-country visa application, not for the extension application.
