I just arrived yesterday and I would like to stay in Koh Pha-ngan for around 6 months, but I only received a 1 month Visa on entry.
If I have read some of your previous posts correctly- I can go to the immigration office here and simply apply for a 1 month extension. However, is there a limit to the number of extensions I can receive?
What is the best way to cover my Visa issues now that I am in the country?
Thank you so very much for your help. ๐

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on how to extend their stay in Koh Pha-ngan for six months after arriving on a 30-day visa on entry. They inquire about the possibility and limits of visa extensions and the best course of action while in Thailand. A comment clarifies that a one-time extension for 30 days is available for a fee, and outlines alternatives such as obtaining a tourist visa or leaving and re-entering the country for a new visa on entry.
yeah you should have thought that thru BEFORE you winged your way here without any visa in your passport for thailand ๐
You got in on whats called a 30 day visa exempt entry, you can extend that ONE time for 30 days for 1900baht at the immigration office in your area then you're done.
You'd need to go to a thai consulate in a neighboring country to BUY a tourist visa which would stamp you in for 60 days and that you could extend for 30 more
OR
You'd need to exit/re-enter the country to get a new 30 day visa exempt entry stamp (which you can do TWO times by land entry in a year) and you could extend that one time for 30 days as well.
