How can I extend my visa stay in Thailand for an additional 30 days from a visa exemption?

Hello, I have arrived from France (holding a French passport) on a visa exemption scheme in phuket. I am now in Bangkok leaving at my boyfriend’s place. My stamp is valid until November 6 but I would like to extend my stay for another 30 days (or more with the covid extension). I have looked into old posts and comments to get answers for my particular situation but it’s quite confusing. Very sorry if the info have been shared already...

Here are my questions:

- Do I have to go to chaeng Watthana, Mueang thong thani the immigration office for temporary visa or any immigration office to get my 30 days extension ? (If you know the exact counter that would be super helpful too)

- Should I go there on the expiration date of my stamp (November 6th), or like a week before ?

- Any documents I need to submit? I saw a comment regarding the TM30 that needed to be submitted by the owner of the apartment. Unfortunately I had no idea I had to do that... Can this be done now that I have been here for 2 weeks?

Thank you so much for your help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, an expat from France, is seeking guidance on how to extend their stay in Thailand for 30 days after arriving on a visa exemption. They inquire about which immigration office to visit, the timing of their visit concerning their current visa expiration, required documents, including the TM30, and the necessity of filing it given their previous unawareness. A commenter advises them to go to Muang Thong Thani Immigration Office, specifically Counter K, at any time before their visa expires. They mention that it may be necessary to file a TM30, and suggest taking the lease and boyfriend along to process it.

You go to Muang Thong Thani Immigration office and you want Counter K,

You can go any time, they will add the 30 days to the expiration you have now.

Whether you will need a TM30 filed or not is up to the officer you get when you apply for the extension. Sadly that you didn't know you needed to do it doesn't mean you don't have to do it. 😕

Take your b/f and their lease and go file a TM30 at MTT Counter B. Worst case, the most they'll fine you for failing to do a TM30 on time would be 800baht..
