I am trying to apply for a tourist evisa to stay in Thailand for 85 days. Im in Canada.

Assuming i can use a 60 day visa and get a 30 extension from immigration when i am there.

Is this correct ? Extension in country ? That i show ticket for 85 days , and accommodation for the same.

The website questionnaire is quite confusing for a 65 year old.

Any help or recommendations would be appreciated.

Brian, I am from Canada also. Been here in Thailand on retirement visa 10 years. Been following this group for a long time as well. My advice is to talk with Tod Daniels for the best advice. Advice you can trust to be correct.

since you are over 50 Years old, if your bank account balance is at least ฿800k Thai Baht (or in foreign currency equivalence) or your monthly income is at least ฿65k Thai Baht, then perhaps Apply for a Non–O E–Visa based on over 50 Years old instead of a SETV and that would give you 90 Days Stay covering your planned stay of 85 Days

Russell Boyman it's an option for the OP who stated he planned a Stay for 85 Days

As for a tourist on an 3 week stay (Less than 30 Days), then if holding a Passport from 1 of 74 possible countries, then that Tourist making Entry into Thailand doesn't need much and definitely not a Thai Bank Account

As for applying for any Thai E–Visa at a Thai Embassy or Thai Consulate outside Thailand, also No Need for a Thai Bank Account, but need a bank account with the minimum bank account balance, depending on the type of Thai E–Visa they are applying for

I made the suggestion of a Non–O E–Visa to avoid the hassle of going to a local Thai Immigration Office for an Extension of Stay during their tourist visit inside Thailand that is planned for 85 Days

Dca Dca then i need to fill out an even more confusing document. Proof of insurance ( don't have it yet ) and this is just over the top to come on a 3 month holiday .

Brian Schroeder No insurance required or requested for a Non–O E–Visa

No problem at all showing your onward travel at 85 days and no problem at all showing your hotel booked for that long either when you apply for the Visa online.

You will come in, get stamped in for 60 days on a single entry tourist visa, and then take the 30 day extension you can get at the immigration office where you stay for 1900 baht

how about if i book for a few days and travel around Thailand to various unconfirmed locations ?

Then the hotel booking thing gets very confusing.

So , do i need show 85 days worth of bookings , or just a day at arrival hotel.

My experience says booking rooms online can be very disappointing and i will move to a better place asap.

how about you apply with the bookings you have and see if the embassy emails you about needing lodging for all the days you plan to stay or not
