Can I enter Thailand on a tourist visa while waiting for my DTV application to process?

I have a flight on the 18th, and my DTV application may not go through until then...

Can I still fly to Thailand, enter on a tourist visa, and then exit to Vietnam (or other neighboring country) and come back in and use the DTV visa when I get it?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The question revolves around whether one can enter Thailand using a tourist visa while awaiting the approval of a DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) application, which may not be processed by the date of the intended flight. Comments suggest it may not be advisable to leave the country once the DTV application has been submitted, as this could jeopardize its approval. Several commenters shared experiences and concerns regarding visa processing times and the implications of leaving Thailand on the application status.

You don't say where you are coming from to Thailand the way the world is at the moment.

You can do that IF the DTV is issued but if they ask for more information after you have left Israel where you applied then you are in danger of having your application rejected.

Graham Seal sounds like it's not worth the risk. I will just stay here until I get my visa and reschedule my flight as necessary. Thanks!

You should remain in Vietnam until the visa is issued. Leaving may result in the cancellation of your application

I'm not in Vietnam. I'm in Israel. That's why I will probably not get the visa in time. The embassy is closed, the visa isn't being processed.

@Amir *****
I assumed you were in Vietnam as you referenced it. Can you even get a flight out of Israel right now? I don't know anything about the Thai embassy in Israel but if your application gets cancelled you can go to Vietnam and apply again. If it gets issued you can exit Thailand and should be able to enter on the DTV

Amir Dash what about entering Vietnam first before Thailand. You can try applying from Hanoi instead of waiting for the embassy to open. I did mine in Hanoi last month...I took a chance and left to China then back in Thailand before the visa was approved. Worst case scenario, I would lose the fee and had to reapply elsewhere...it's not a crime afterall. The afternoon after I landed back in Thailand, I got the approval visa. Left the country for 2 weeks for a medical treatment and came back to activate. Not suggesting you take the risks like I did...just sharing my story. It took 6 business days from submission to approval...workation. Good luck!

Amir Dash I'd look at your flights. . There's a war being waged by Israel. All sorts of flights cancelled etc.
