Hi Everybody :-) I am from germany. Is it possible to fly to Bangkok, get there the 60 days visa on arrival and than transfer the visa into the DTV? Because the visa needs 3 weeks here but I don't want to wait this time, because I could fly next week.
Thank you in advanced
Khop Khun Ka 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user asks if it's possible to travel to Bangkok, obtain a 60-day visa on arrival, and then convert it to a DTV visa. Responses indicate that a DTV visa application must be submitted from outside Thailand, and the German passport does not qualify for a visa on arrival but rather a 60-day visa exemption. Users suggest obtaining the DTV visa in Germany before traveling and briefly exiting the country to activate it.
As long as the application was made when outside yes you can.
You would need to leave the country and come back in to activate the DTV though, so a border bounce and just 5 minutes outside the country would be fine.
Make sure you have all the documentation in order and bring with you though proving where you applied though. And that you were in that country. 😉
Hmm, i was wondering too. I was planning to apply in the middle of october. i have my ticket to bangkok on the 30th of Oct, so I don't know if this will be enough time (processing times are 10-15 days) to obtain DTV. I wonder if i can enter Thailand with visa on arrival, then leave (I'm going to NZ anyway in DEC) and come back, showing my DTV printed out? i will apply online.
Once you have applied in Germany you could go to Thailand, if the DTV is approved then bounce out and return showing your DTV visa printed out to get stamped in for 180 days.
