Can I do a border run while finalizing my marriage process in Thailand without raising immigration concerns?

Hi everyone,

I know this has probably been asked in different variations, but I just wanted to clarify my personal situation and get some advice.

I arrived in Thailand on a UK tourist visa for 2 months, which I extended to 3 months. I then did a border run, allowing me an additional 2 months plus another extension. I understand that eyebrows may be raised after around 6 months. I am currently in the process of getting married to my Thai girlfriend, but this will overlap with my current stay, so I'll need to do another border run to give me the breathing space to finalize everything.

I'm aware there is no longer a 2-per-year land border limit, and each entry is the discretion of immigration. Will they feel I am abusing tourist entries if I show evidence of this marriage process im going through, or should I be fine since they can see (if I provide evidence) that I'm only doing this run to arrange the relevant long-term visa?

I will also be using a reputable border run service should that make any difference.

Thanks,

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on performing a border run in Thailand to extend their stay while planning to marry a Thai citizen. They've been in Thailand for several months on a tourist visa, extended through border runs, and are concerned about potential scrutiny from immigration regarding their frequent entries. They plan to provide evidence of their marriage process during the next border run and are using a reputable service. Comments from the community suggest that using a reliable border run service should alleviate any immigration issues.

Thanks, I try to refrain from responding to irrelevant questions that are simply none of their business, especially when I did not ask for relationship advice or provide any detailed background story on my relationship to justify it. This comment wouldn't be made in any Western location, so it really angers me when people think it's appropriate in Thailand. But I'll certainly take his advice on a retirement visa at 34! ๐Ÿ˜‚

First mistake getting married. Why would you do that. Second mistake border runs just get a retirement visa or DVT.

maybe getting married would be a mistake for you but this doesn't mean it's a mistake for everybody else

The border run service will NOT take you unless they know for sure you are getting back in. You will be fine

You sure about getting married? You should do the 5 yesr DTV and just relax a bit. Take it slow.

Border bounce service won't take unless they know they can bring you back. (Or at least the well known reputable ones like FTV)

Using a reputable border bounce company should remove any worries. Normally they won't take you unless they can get you back

As long as you use a border bounce service, you shouldn't have any issues.
