If you cross the border now and come back into Thailand do you get another 30 days visa? I have a 60 day visa after flying in from Myanmar and that would the 1st time I have done a border run
Answer summary
Entering Thailand on a 60-day visa exemption allows for a potential extension and options for border runs. Users discussed that after your 60-day stay, you can apply for a 30-day extension or consider a border run for another 30-day visa exemption, granted at the discretion of the immigration officer. It's recommended to check previous entry history and consider the option of using a visa run company for better chances of re-entry. Importantly, visa rules may change, so staying updated on current policies is crucial.

You only get another visa if you apply for one. Do you mean visa or exempt entry?

you don't get a visa, you get a visa waiver.

How long have you spent inside Thailand in the past 12-18 months? That's more relevant than I've only done one border run. But one border run implies that you entered Thailand, received a 60 day visa exempt stamp and did a 30 day extension, then flew to Myanmar for another 60 day visa exempt stamp and have possibly had a 30 day extension on that as well. If you were to leave and return now you would possibly get another 60 day stamp (it's not yet dropped to 30) but if you did it under your own steam it's highly unlikely. If you use a border bounce company or a safe entry service they will get you in (or not assist you) but the price will depend on your history.

so you haven't done a border run at all, you simply entered from Myanmar. You can use the remainder of your 60 day stamp and get a 30 day extension on it. Then you can exit and return for another visa exempt entry which by then is likely to be 30 days, or you could apply for a tourist visa while outside Thailand which would be 60 days

Kevin Birch "Any visa 30 or 60" . . .there is no 30-days visa
Graham ******
Graham ******
Kevin Birch incorrect, you are talking about visa exempt entry which is not a visa which you always pay for

Kevin Birch we're going to have to wait and see how the changes to visa exempt play out

"I have a 60 day visa after flying in from Myanmar" . . did you enter on a visa, or did you enter visa-exempt ? When you enter visa-exempt, you do NOT receive any visa. You just receive a stamp that says "admitted until" - this is a stay permit, not a visa

"I have a 60 day visa after flying in from Myanmar " . . . . . so you entered Thailand on a single entry 60-days Tourist Visa ? Why don't you apply for the 30-days touristic extension first, before you do a border run? You could do the border run SAFELY with an agent (with a "Visarun Company") and get 30 more days when entering visa-exempt. This would be a 120 days holiday (60+30+30) but don't expect to be issued another 30 days extension - this will be upon the sole discretion of the Immigration officer and it also depends on your previous one-year period touristic stamp history

Does anyone know a good visa run company preferably based in Bangkok?

why are you looking for a visa run company? You've been here less than 30 days, you were stamped in for 60 days and can also get a 30 day extension. You don't need to do anything for 2 months other than visit immigration for an extension

Gary Roberts you find MANY, just use google search "visa run company in Bangkok"

Greg Alexander you only allowed 1 extension on visa exempt,

Kevin Birch he did not tell us if he arrived from Myanmar on a tourist visa, or if he arrived visa exempt. It makes a difference! If he arrived visa-exempt, he can get one 30 days extension. Then he should use a Visarun Company for a border bounce, and receive 30 days visa-exempt, for which he can only get a 7-days extension on top. Upon that, his personal 1-rolling year limit of visa-exempt entries would be finito

Kevin Birch actually, you are allowed TWO extensions on two separate visa exempt entries, within a 1-year rolling period. The first extension will be for 30 days, however the second extension will only be for 7 days

You'll only get a visa if you apply for one. But if it changes you can enter visa exempt for 30 days and extend that for extra 30 days at the local immigration.

Lynnette Munoz Not in force yet , it comes into force 14 days after it is published in the royal gazzet !! So at the moment 60 days !

Kevin Birch hence "if it changes you can enter visa exempt for 30 days"

Kevin Birch I know. Thought they were asking about when it changes and what to do. They also thought it was a visa, it isn't.
