Does anyone know if it’s possible to convert from Thai Elite visa to a non-B visa to get a work permit without leaving Thailand? I heard so far it’s required to fly out and come back in. Many thanks!

The answer is yes and no.

NO, you cannot CONVERT an elite visa entry to anything :O it's an elite visa entry stamp or extension.

YES, You CAN apply for an in country 90 day Non-B visa inside the country FROM an elite entry stamp or extension

You just want a visa that will let you back in the country if you leave? Are they only letting people in with a work permit or special tourist visa?

you can get into the country on a 45 day visa exempt entry, or a 60 day tourist visa.
