Hey guys. Not sure if this scenario has been on here or not. Couldn't find out exactly what to do. I am here from the US visa exempt. Now I have extended 2 times with covid extention until July 8. I have found an employer willing to get me a Non B visa and work permit. My question is how do I go about doing that? Nobody is sure exactly with all the restrictions still. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is on a visa-exempt entry in Thailand and has extended their stay twice due to COVID-19 restrictions, currently valid until July 8. They have found an employer willing to sponsor a Non-B visa and work permit and are seeking guidance on how to proceed. Responses indicate that the employer should contact the immigration office regarding the possibility of converting the current visa status to a Non-B visa, as restrictions may vary based on location and current policies.

Employers typically work with agents. I believe he would normally have to leave the country to initiate a non-b for working, but in some cases, things have been sorted, only good at one particular immigration office. The agency would have to do it, you would be unlikely to be able to do it yourself.

What restrictions?

Getting a Visa is the same as it's always been. Your work needs to get you a work permit and they need to talk to the immigration office where you'll be getting your non-B visa to find out

1. If they issue in-country non-B visa conversions and

2. If they allow someone on a covid extension to convert to non-B

If either of those questions is no then you'll need to leave the country and apply for a non-B outside once they have all the paperwork sorted.

Ya I guess that's what I was wondering. If I can convert while still in country or if I have to leave and then apply. I still have 6 weeks before my extension is over. First time dealing with anything like this. Thanks ๐Ÿ™
