What are the options for extending or converting my family's visas in Thailand after being on a Visa Exempt Stamp?

Needing advice on context and concerns below. Our family is on Visa Exempt Stamp (after 3 years outside Thailand for a supposed vacation then the world closed) that ends in May 3. Thinking on possible next steps depending on timeline. Expired Non-B and Non- O visas due to the pandemic. All got new passports.

1. 30 Day Tourist Visa Extension in-country - I believe we can request at IT Laksi in BKK or in Chiang Mai. As for TM30, the latest hotel receipt would possibly do right? Weve been hopping varied places of stays.

1. In-country conversion of Tourist to Non- B (teaching) and Non-O dependent Visas (for wife and children), within the 15-day validity of stamp.

* Would appreciate recent success experiences in BKK or CNX Immigration offices and the list of requirements please, if this is possible. So we can ready them.

* Would it matter too if the Work Contract states employment is effective not until August 2023? Will Visas approval depend on the dates indicated in the employers documentation, for instance the Employment Contract date? We’d like to process the shift to Non-B the soonest possible time.

* Read about Work Permit and Visa cancellations, will this still be necessary? Our Visas were in the old passports and all have expired while we're outside Thailand.

3. Upon 30 day Tourist Extension expiry in June, would need to fly out for application of Non-B and Non-O in a Thai Embassy/Consulate in Vietnam or Laos maybe.

* Would appreciate recent list of requirements and experiences from you guys, in a consulate near Danang or Hoi An, Vietnam as we have a planned holiday in June there.

Appreciate all your help. Cheers!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The family is on a Visa Exempt Stamp that expires on May 3 and is considering options for visa extensions or conversions. They mention the possibility of applying for a 30-day tourist visa extension and inquire about converting to Non-B (teaching) and Non-O dependent visas before the stamp's validity ends. They seek advice on documentation, recent experiences at immigration offices in Bangkok or Chiang Mai, and implications of employment contract dates. Additionally, they ask about requirements for applying for Non-B and Non-O visas at a consulate in Vietnam after their tourist extension ends.

You can apply for 30 days tourism extension if your entries are visa-exempt. You need to go to the immigration office that serves your latest TM30 address.

But you need to talk with your new employer and the immigration office in the province of employment about other questions. It all depends on your new employer and the immigration office they would deal with, including if you need to officially cancel your previous extensions or you don't have to.
