My wife and I have a non o visa extension based on over 50 and retired, we each have a bank account with Bangkok Bank and each with a minimum of 800,000 Baht in,
I asked the question at Lamphun immigration today, that because of my concern in case anything happens to either of us would it be possible have the combined funds in one account in both names, the answer was yes as long as the two accounts were transferred into the joint account on the same day,
the answer was verbal so nothing in writing,
My question is has anyone else done this and can confirm it is correct?
TIA Paul.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about combining funds into a joint bank account for Non-O visa extension eligibility in Thailand based on the verbal advice received from local immigration. The community provided various insights confirming that some immigration offices accept joint accounts, with recommendations on maintaining the required balance and managing funds. There were suggestions for alternative approaches like changing extension reasons and creating a testament for access to funds.

You need to maintain the 800k for 3 months into the next extension then it cannot fall below 400k for the rest of the year. Don't do any transfers until your extension is in this 400k period so you can transfer 400k from each account one day then, when you are sure it has arriced in the new account, transfer the remaining 400k. That way there is no possibility that both the old and new account was ever below the 400k requirement at the same time.
Second option after completing the first 1 yr extension, ask if your local office will allow one spouse to "change the reason for extension" and go "dependant" on the other.
