Can my husband and I combine our retirement visa funds to eliminate the need for two separate 800K accounts?

Hello there. My husband and I are on separate retirement visas each with the 800K in the account but wonder how difficult is to combine it to make one a dependent? Is that possible to do? So we do not have to tie up 2 x 800K?

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The question discusses the feasibility of combining funds for retirement visas in Thailand, specifically if one partner can be listed as a dependent to avoid having two separate 800K accounts. The comments suggest that this is possible and advise checking with the local immigration office for the latest requirements, highlighting the importance of the original marriage certificate and potential need for certification or translation.

In theory should be quite simple.

You will check with your local immigration first.

Leave the money as is until the new extension is granted.

In case you are denied, you still qualify on your own.

Original marriage certificate is the critical document.

*Possibly needing it certified and/or translated by your embassy.

Other than that simple.

Are you on an extension of stay or on a visa still? I believe the first extension must be for the reason the visa was granted. But at the time of the second extension you can change the reason for the extension to allow this.
