What is the process for applying for a new Non-Immigrant B Visa while in Thailand after my current visa ends?

Hi everyone, I have some questions about the visa that hopefully you can help me.

Basically, I’m currently working in Nakhon Si Thammarat with Non-Immigrant B Visa and my contract will finish on 20th May.

I’ll start a new job in Bangkok on 23th May and I have some questions about the new Non-B visa application.

So by the time my visa and work permit is canceled on 20th May

1. How many days of “extension” the immigration office normally gives? I think it’s 7 but I would like to be sure.

2. After my Non-Immigrant B get cancel, can I apply for the new Non-Immigrant B being in Thailand? In that case, I have to apply for a new visa or there is an option to transfer my current the visa?

3. To apply for the new Non-Immigrant B Visa, I have to apply 15 days before? I read that but I’m not sure because as far as I know you can not apply for a new visa if you still have one .

4. In the hypothetical situation that my documents are not ready by 23th May and I have to overstay in Thailand. It’s possible to apply for Non-Immigrant B in the overstay situation? Or in this case do I have to apply first for tourist visa?

5. Are they still giving COVID visa?

6. Normally people will apply 1st for Non-Immigrant B Visa and after that for Work Permit, right?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on managing their Non-Immigrant B Visa situation as they transition between jobs in Thailand, specifically regarding visa extensions, application timing, overstaying, and visa transfer options.

Don't take a 7 day extension.. if you accept that you have to leave Thailand within 7 days. The only extension that might work for you is the Covid extension, otherwise you'll have to leave and return. Whether you can get a new visa inside Thailand is between you, your new employer and immigration. You may find it easier to get a visa outside Thailand but speak to your new employer
