Start at Thai consulate in US. They will give you forms and instructions to provide medical certificate that you don’t have tuberculosis, get a clean criminal record, statements of you steady income. You will legalize it by notary stamps. Return to the consulate and receive a 3 month non OA visa. In Thailand you go to the immigration office and receive the one year permit of stay.
