Question about tm30, I entered Thailand at Mae Sai, I'll be traveling for 10 days before getting to Pattaya and file my tm30, can I avoid getting fined if I prove I was out of Pattaya and didn't stop in any place long enough to file a tm30?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry discusses the potential for avoiding fines related to the TM30 filing requirements while traveling in Thailand prior to reaching Pattaya. Comments indicate that as long as you file the TM30 upon arrival in Pattaya within the allowed period, fines may be avoided. It is noted that Jomtien Immigration is more lenient with TM30 requirements compared to other offices, and travelers should clarify local immigration rules.
Pattaya immigration wont care less where you have been prior to arriving in pattaya, or whether a TM30 was done. If you go to phuket next week, they wont care that you have been in pattaya or if a TM30 has been filled..
So I have to go to an immigration office and register myself? The hotel didn't do that, I specifically asked and I got a receipt to show at immigration office
Just file the TM30 at Pattaya Jomtien Immigration within 3 days of arrival at your Pattaya residence. Note...Jomtien Immigration allows 3.days to file the TM 30....whereas other immigration offices may only allow 1 day...
Check with your immigration to find out their requirements.
BTW...I did just as you ...with a Mae Sai border crossing...along with two weeks travel inside Thailand. Filed the TM30 upon my return to Pattaya/ Jomtien Immigration.
And Jomtien/Pattaya does not require a TM30 filing for travel inside Thailand.
