Hi everyone,

I’m planning to apply for the DTV while I’m in Malaysia, at the Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur. I will include all the required documents in my application.

However, I can’t stay in Kuala Lumpur for more than 10 days, as I need to return to Bangkok to take care of my cat.

Do you think 10 days is enough for the visa to be processed?

Also, should I apply online through the thaievisa.go.th platform, or directly at the embassy in KL?

Thanks a lot for your help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring whether 10 days is sufficient for the processing of a DTV visa application at the Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, as they need to return to Bangkok to care for their cat. Respondents suggest that 10 days may not be enough, with advice to consider alternative arrangements for their pet and explore other consulates if applying in Malaysia. There are also recommendations to apply online.

Hi Sami, when are you going and what part of Bangkok do you live? I am happy to go and feed him/her and play with them if I'm not travelling for my own visa at the same time as you! I have a cat too so I hope someone would do the same for me :)

Not enough. You might end up wasting those 10 days AND the application fee in vain.

Put your cat in a pet hotel and plan for 3 weeks. Even if it's shorter, you don't want to do all of this for nothing, best of luck bro

It is not advisable to apply in Thailand Embassy Kuala Lumpur. If you chose Malaysia,

you should have gone through Thai Consulate Penang or Kota Bahru.

They say 7 working days but that's only if you don't have to supply further information, attend for interview etc. But you do need to remain there until the process completes. The Malaysian consulates appear to be quite strict. And you can only apply online wherever you apply

There are plenty of animals clinics and homes taking care of it for you. Don't play with the rules... You may get denied.
