Hello. I'm a US citizen, but currently in Thailand. My bank statements and proof of address are in the US. As I was looking at the DTV application, it's asking me to apply thru the US Los Angeles office. But since I'm in Thailand already now, I was planning to go to Cambodia and apply through the website there. But do I need to apply through a Cambodian office and provide proof of address in Cambodia? Or can I still apply thru the USA, since all of my documents that I submit will have my USA address?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus among community members is that if you are in Thailand but plan to apply for a DTV visa from Cambodia, you must apply through the Cambodian office once you are physically in Cambodia. You'll need to provide a Cambodian address, which can be your accommodation's address, along with the entry stamp from Cambodian immigration as evidence of your location. Applying while you are still in Thailand is not permitted, and applications from locations outside the country you are applying for may not be accepted.

Ou can use wherever you stay at for the address

We're going to Hanoi .. hopefully

We filing under dtv spouse and children . But we've been getting a lot of mixed answers from dtv places that help with documents .

So we have to go on person to some places . Kind of bummed with all the misleading information . 😕

No, you apply via Cambodia. It asks you where you are physically located. For evidence that you are in Cambodia, you upload your Cambodia entry stamp that Cambodian immigration stamps into your passport. Be forewarned, Cambodia takes 11 business days though

The evisa will route to the embassy you are applying at.

By the rule you are to be in that country to apply.

Apply in the country you’re in. So you’ll need to go to Cambodia, and apply online at the Cambodian embassy there. Wait until it’s granted, then come back.

Your Cambodian address will simply be the hotel

Ok, so it asks me the country of passport, I'll put United States. And then it asks for current location, I'll put Cambodia. And that's okay? The third question, it says apply at, and it only gives Phnom Penh as an option. But I will not be in Phnom Penh. Do I have to go there to apply or anywhere in Cambodia? I was planning to go to Siem Reap.

phnom penh is the only thai embassy in Cambodia so if you are in Cambodia that's your only choice. But you can be anywhere inside Cambodia

You must stay in Cambodia for 10 days, but you don’t have to remain in one place. To prove your stay, you need to book a hotel for a few days. They will also check the entry stamp in your passport.
