Is it better to apply for a tourist visa from my home country or use a border run after 60 days in Thailand?

I have two entries each 30 days per year.

Since I need to stay in Thailand for 6 month is this recommendable to get the tourist visa at the beginning from home country or use the 60 days with boarder run and then apply for tourist visa in Thailand?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
To stay in Thailand for 6 months, it is advisable to apply for a tourist visa (such as the Multiple Entry Tourist Visa - METV) from your home country, as you cannot obtain a tourist visa once in Thailand.

Get from home country. You cannot get a tourist visa inside Thailand.

Check the requirements for the 6 month multiple entry tourist visa METV. Might be an option for you.

You can’t get a tourist visa IN Thailand.
