Hello everyone,

I am currently on a Covid extension and as far as I know, all the agents cannot offer an ED or non-volunteer visas anymore. Therefore, after this Covid extension, would it be possible to apply for a special tourist visa in country without going back ? Any possible long term

Stay solutions?

Thank you for your expert advices.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on a Covid extension and seeks advice on whether they can apply for a Special Tourist Visa (STV) without leaving Thailand, given that agents are not offering certain visa types. Comments indicate that tourist visas, including the STV, are not available from within Thailand, highlighting the need for potential travel outside the country to obtain a new visa.

It’s looking like they’re forcing long stayers to finally leave and re-enter. I’d start looking at Cambodia (21 days) as a possibility but might be less hassle just to go back your home country for 21 days.

Why 21 days ?

Time in Thailands counts towards the 21 days of being in an approved country

So my post is about leaving Thailand if they can’t extend their visa, which is what the OP is about.

But they can enter Cambodia and come back as soon as get Thai pass they dont need to be in Cambodia for 21 days

That’s why in brackets as wasn’t sure if applied, so wasn’t a definitive answer. Use of brackets indicates an element of uncertainty in some languages. We both learn something new today. 👍

ED visa is still available all over the Kingdom. You just need to search for a school, not for an agent.

Proper ED visa not through agent.
