Visa advice please: I arrived visa exemption Bangkok last year mid November. Last time I went to Immigration they told me this would be my last Covid extension as I had a few previously. I've heard if I'm rejected I'll get a 7 day stamp whereby I have to leave the country within one week.

Is that true?

TLDR : Answer Summary
If your visa extension application is rejected at the Immigration Office in Thailand, you may receive a 7-day stamp that requires you to leave the country within that timeframe. The Immigration Officer has several options regarding your application: they can approve it, reject it outright, keep it under consideration, or provide a 7-day exit stamp.

Lots of confusion, but I give it a try.

as Foreigner you visit the Immigration Office to apply for an Extension of your temporary stay in the Kingdom, you need some documents and the fee for this application.

The Immigration Officer has a few options to do his job:

1. He agrees with your application and make a stamp in your passport with a later date.

2. He dis agree with your application and hands back all the documents including fee and tells you, sorry but the application is incomplete or you are not legible for this Extension.

3. He stamps the passport with Under Consideration and you have to come back on the mentioned date to get the rest of the time you asked for.

4. He not approve your application, stamps your passport, application not approved and gives you 7 days to leave the Kingdom.

When does your latest stamp expire?

Nick Wat..Do what James has suggested. But do have a plan to leave in place..If you go a day or two before expiry, worse case they will give you seven days to leave. Make sure any flight you have is in this timeframe so you don't go on to overstay

then go back in mid March and ask again.

And this might be a good time to have a Plan B to leave or stay.
