Planning on entering Thailand on 28 September and was going to apply for a Non-O visa extension based on marriage. Just realized my Passport expires on 17 September 2027. I assume that getting an extension is now impossible. Any suggestions?
Answer summary
A user is concerned about applying for a Non-O visa extension based on marriage due to their passport expiring soon. Community members suggest that extensions can still be obtained since the passport is valid, albeit until its expiration. They also recommend renewing the passport to avoid complications and ensure a valid extension in the future.

As long as the passport has at least 6 months left you can apply for the extension of stay, if granted it will expire when your passport does. Once you get it get a new passport then before the extension of stay expires apply for another with the new passport.
No problem applying for the extension. But an extension cannot be longer than your passport is valid. So you'll be issued a short extension that only goes until your passport expiration date. That will be your new extension date every year going forward.
OK, and if I come back to Thailand in October or November next year I just do the process over but I still have my bank account, which to me is the biggest pain, right?
You can still get the extension it'll run till probably Oct 2027 when your passport expires. Meanwhile you can then renew your passport after extension done.
