About a month ago I posted a question asking if anyone had gotten a 60 day ME tourist visa, immediately after one expired. I said I would update, so here it is. US citizen, my last 60 ME TR visa expired July 15th. I left Thailand August 29th. I applied for a new 60 day ME TR a week later. Today I reviewed email asking for my onward ticket, bank statements, and another accomodations verification. I replied to the email link they sent, an hour later I was approved for new 60 day ME TR visa. So you CAN get them back to back.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A US citizen successfully obtained a new 60-day ME tourist visa in Thailand after their previous visa expired. After leaving Thailand for a short period, they reapplied for the same visa and provided the necessary documents, including an onward ticket and bank statements, leading to their approval. Community comments noted that the process may vary based on the specific embassy or consulate and raised concerns about potential visa overstay.

If it expired in July and you left in August you would have illegally overstayed your visa so there is no way you would be allowed back in

a visas valid dates are not related to the entry stamp dates.

A METV visa can expire before you leave Thailand. As long as you enter before its expiry date then you’ll get stamped in for 60 days.

Glad it worked out for you. However it is embassy/consulate specific so it may not work for all.
