TLDR : Answer Summary
The user plans to arrive in Bangkok on a single entry Non-O visa and is inquiring about the possibility of applying for a multiple entry visa immediately upon arrival, as they anticipate needing to travel out of Thailand several times within the initial 90 days. The community responses confirm that while it's possible to apply for a multiple re-entry permit, it is generally advised to consider whether it is truly necessary. Additionally, there are instructions on how to apply for the re-entry permit and the associated costs and documentation required.

Hi . Thanks all for your responses . I submitted the online application on the 1st . Got an email on the 3rd asking for colour copies of the my Thai marriage certificate and wife’s Thai id . No further communication or update since the 3rd : it has been 8 working days since the 3rd. I assume this is well within the advertised time to consider. When should I start getting worried
keep in mind that a multiple re-entry permit (you dont buy a "multiple entry visa"!) for 3800 Baht only keeps the initial 90-days "admitted stay" permit valid. You do not gain any extra days on top of the 90 days you get stamped in on first entry
