Can I apply for a DTV work action visa in Thailand while holding an unutilized METV visa?

Applied for dtv while in New York, soft power must Thai route 1 month course, given 6 month metv instead, didn’t use it, now in Hanoi and want to apply for dtv work action visa as a freelancer. I meet all the requirements but my metv visa doesn’t end until February(August2025  to February 2026) it says my tr visa is valid 06 July 2025 to 01 January 2026

I’m in Hanoi now, can I apply for dtv visa in the meantime while that other metv visa still exists that I didn’t use? Or do I have to wait for it to expire and when is the earliest I can apply then? I will apply in Hanoi. Appreciate any help, thank you so much!

Hi I had the same issue with NY but with a 6 month course and also did my second attempt in Hanoi. You need to wait for the METV to expire. The whole experience was a disaster but one benefit was that by the time I applied in Hanoi I had bank statements for 9 months.

You either have to find a way to cancel the METV or wait until it expires but I'm confused about the dates as a you provide 2 different ones. What is the expiry date on your actual visa. A one month course was never going to fly for the DTV
