Can you apply for a DTV visa while in Thailand, or must it be done from outside?

That's a no go.

This is a very big warning the e-visa site gives you as soon as you try to start a visa application. Any visa obtained while inside of Thailand is obtained through fraud because lies must be told on the application.

Must leave Thailand

Normally, DTV applications are made from outside Thailand. Many embassies require proof that you are physically present in the country where you apply, such as an entry stamp, boarding pass, or hotel booking.

If an agent says you don’t need to leave Thailand, I would ask how they intend to provide that evidence.

Remember, the application is under your name. Whatever is uploaded to the system is considered information provided by the applicant. Just make sure you understand exactly what is being submitted on your behalf.

DTV can only be issued by a Thai consulate. There are no Thai consulates inside Thailand
